A Start To Minimalism

Updated: Nov 26, 2019

I have been CRAVING a simpler life for a few years now, I'm done trying to organize "stuff"!

To be honest I wouldn't be lying if I said I haven't thought about selling everything more than once. Even though I don't have a clear plan, I DO know I want to reduce stress and enjoy a happier, healthier life!

So for the month of June (well I actually already started...hehe) I am doing a little experiment. I pulled out only 30 clothing items (not including shoes & accessories) and I'm challenging myself to only wear these items for the whole month. I'm really kind of excited about it, and can't wait to see how creative I can be coming up with new outfits. It's also kinda crazy because I have a vacation planned and I usually have a completely different wardrobe for those kinds of events, complete with a shopping trip just before to add a few new things......not this year! I'm also using an app that shows how to pair different items together in ways maybe you wouldn't think about.

Since I have already started I thought I would share a couple of my first looks with you.

This was my first "look" I've had this white gauze maxi skirt from Old Navy (piece #1) for years and its always a favorite piece of mine in the summer months because its cool. The top is a newer piece I added this spring from Target (piece #2). Then the showstopper.....my arrowhead and rose quartz statement necklace handmade by Lisa Crystelle. And to top it off a leather belt and orange wedges for a POP of color! orange wedges and leather belt.

The next look a little more laid back, both of these pieces I got from StitchFix a couple years back and still LOVE. Do you know how hard it is to find skinny jeans (piece #3) with side zippers when you are short, that actually fit?! And the lace details and open shoulders on this top(piece #4) are just to die for. Necklace and shoes are both Lucky Brand another "Go To Brand" for me, and a faux snakeskin belt to add a little texture.

I am REALLY digging this so far, but it's just a small start to see if I can REALLY live this lifestyle I crave so much!
